Our committees are off to a flying start in 2023

The committees of Trade Promotion Europe kicked off their activities in January, when the chairs met with the President of Trade Promotion Europe to define their work plans for 2023.

The work programme for the Agri-food Promotion Committee, chaired by Declan Coppinger (Board Bia), includes engaging with organisers of trade shows; engaging with EU Institutions on EU agri-food promotion policy, and relations with DG AGRI to discuss complementarity of promotion activities, as well as an initiative on e-commerce for food products in China.

The Institution Committee, previously known as EUIDC, chaired by Catherine Jurovsky (Business France), will focus on understanding the EU decision-making process, map and engage with relevant EU institutions on topics relevant to members, while it will also lead Trade Promotion Europe’s input on EU consultations. The Working Group on Brexit Adjustment Reserve is maintained. An ad hoc sub-group will be created to discuss the TPE proposal for the 2024 Single Market Program.

The TPO Collaboration Committee, led by Elena Pavei (hub.brussels), is responsible for the annual benchmarking exercise and will run additional surveys in 2023 to better understand members’ activities and share best practices. Further activities in 2023 will include exchange of best practices on e-commerce and on sustainability. The committee will also consult members on their presence at international fairs.
