E-commerce has entered the world of trade services and is disrupting a space previously seen as the stronghold of a few, large firms. COVID-19 has expedited the growth of e-commerce and now, it is possible to build a whole business online and offer a wide range of services to clients worldwide. There is also an opportunity for small and medium enterprises to go online to be more agile.
However, European countries are lagging behind when it comes to e-commerce. It is essential to have a coordinated approach to help enterprises in their digital trade transformation journey. In fact, during 2020, e-commerce in Europe was worth 717 billion euros which was an increase of 12.7% compared to 2019. This year, it is expected to increase by 9.5%.
Therefore, considering this new challenge and turning it to an opportunity, ETPOA is glad to launch the Digital Trade Working Group on Tuesday 21st September. This event is open to ETPOA members only.
