TPE General Assembly in Brussels | 04-05.12.2025

Trade Promotion Europe (TPE) held its General Assembly on 4 and 5 December 2025 in Brussels, bringing together members, EU officials and partners to exchange on policy and market developments.  With a strong and meaningful participation, the event gathered 27 member organisations and 42 participants from across Europe, showcasing TPE’s growing visibility and outreach.  

Highlights 

Day 1

On the morning of the first day, members approved the draft minutes and agenda, adopted the 2025 financial accounts and the 2026 budget, and endorsed amendments to the Articles of Association and Internal Rules. 

The afternoon featured four parallel internal roundtables, enabling constructive discussions on some of the most pressing challenges shaping today’s trade landscape. 

  • Adapting trade strategies in uncertain times 
  • Building a strong EU start-up ecosystem 
  • Strengthening European supply chain resilience 
  • Empowering TPOs/APOs and SMEs through AI 

Day 2

Day two opened TPE’s discussions on the broader policy and business ecosystem through a plenary session with high-profile external speakers, building on the previous days’ roundtables, featuring: 

  • Sven Biscop, Director, Egmont Institute for International Relations 
  • Michiel Scheffer, President, European Innovation Council 
  • Sophie Müller, Head of Unit, International Value Chains, DG GROW, European Commission 
  • Pascal Kerneis, Managing Director, European Services Forum 

Members also exchanged with TPE partners, including Liam Jia, Team Leader at the EU SME Centre China, and Luc Chalsège, Senior Director at Deloitte and Service Line Leader for the EU Business Hub Japan & Korea. 

The General Assembly concluded with an internal exchange aimed at jointly identifying TPE’s priorities and strategic orientations in the upcoming period. Discussions focused on sharpening priorities around EU funding and projects, strengthening communication, and enhancing stakeholder advocacy and engagement, laying the groundwork for TPE’s future activities and impact.
